Former President Joe Biden, 82, has begun radiation and hormone therapy for the aggressive prostate cancer he was diagnosed with in May.
A spokesperson confirmed the start of his treatment on October 11. Doctors discovered a small nodule on his prostate during a routine exam, which had spread to the bone.
His illness is described as hormone-sensitive, meaning it is responsive to treatment. Prostate cancer is very common, and most men diagnosed with it do not die from the disease.
